TFS Go Beyond – a digital rewards system for the Toyota Financial Services sales team
TFS Go Beyond is a digital rewards system developed by Wakaaro on behalf of Toyota Financial Services, to complement the existing rewards system for the sales team.
The challenge
Sales staff at Toyota Financial Services received an annual bonus based on the number of leasing contracts sold. However, this system inadvertently favoured sales staff at strategic, high-traffic locations: they could simply sell far more than a colleague in a smaller garage, regardless of who worked harder. Toyota Financial Services was looking for a fairer way to give all sales staff, regardless of location, an equal chance of receiving a reward.
The solution
Wakaaro reviewed the rewards system and introduced digital gamification in the form of a wheel of fortune. Each month, sales staff receive a number of spins, based on the ratio of cars sold to leasing contracts sold, rather than on absolute volumes. This encourages every salesperson to secure that extra leasing contract, regardless of the size of their branch. Sales staff can also choose which prize from the range they wish to play for.
The entire back-end can be customised by the client themselves: adding or removing prizes, setting a limit on how often a prize can be won per month, determining the odds of winning each prize, and more. The system is also secure and accessible only to users within the organisation.
Result & impact
With TFS Go Beyond, all sales staff, regardless of their location or the size of their branch, were given a fair chance of winning a reward, whilst the system simultaneously incentivised them to sell more leasing contracts.
